Neri occupies two old buildings, one a 12th-century palace, on one of the most atmospheric squares in the city. The restoration uncovered the original courtyard and some of Barcelona’s most important decorative sgraffiti, and the hotel keeps the scale small: 22 rooms and suites. The restaurant spills onto the square, and the Roba Estesa roof terrace is a good place for an evening drink above the old city. Everything in the Gothic Quarter and El Born is on foot from here, as is the port shuttle stop.
