Walk in and look up: the dome is as wide as it is high, and the oculus at its centre is the only window. The building has been in continuous use for nearly two thousand years, now as a church. Entry takes a small ticket, bookable by time slot on the official Musei Italiani site or bought at the kiosk in Piazza della Rotonda.
