The Borghese is small enough to see properly in its two-hour slot, and what it holds is extraordinary: Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne and The Rape of Proserpina, six Caravaggios, Canova’s Pauline Borghese. Reservation is mandatory and slots sell out, so book as soon as your dates are fixed. Afterwards, walk through the Villa Borghese gardens down to Piazza del Popolo.
