The name means “brakes and clutches”, after the car workshop it replaced twenty years ago. Freni e Frizioni introduced Rome to the northern Italian aperitivo, and the evening buffet with drinks is still the draw. In summer the crowd spills onto the square outside, by the river near Ponte Sisto.
